With more than one billion users, TikTok is an amazing platform for connecting with audiences. But why stop there? If your videos are winning fans on TikTok, you may want to share them as Instagram Reels or crosspost them as part of your social media marketing strategy too.
When you download a video from TikTok, you’ll notice that it includes a watermark. This can be especially annoying if it covers up an important part of the video. Fortunately, there are many ways to remove a TikTok watermark!
We promise that no fancy TikTok video editing skills are required.

What is a TikTok watermark?
A TikTok watermark is a graphic that is superimposed on top of the video. The purpose of a watermark is to make the origin of the media obvious, so you can’t repost it without attribution.
TikTok includes a watermark with their logo as well as the username of the original poster, as you can see:
Let’s pause for just a sec to say that you shouldn’t post other user’s content without attribution! Stealing content is unethical and can quickly escalate into a social media crisis. The tips below are intended for content creators who want to reshare their own TikTok posts.
TikTok adds a bouncing watermark, which will move around as the video plays. This can present an additional challenge when you’re trying to remove it.
How to remove the TikTok watermark on iOS and Android: 4 methods
Whether you’re using iOS or Android, there are four basic methods for removing a watermark:
- Crop it out of the video
- Use an app to remove the watermark
- Using a video editing tool to remove it
- Save your video without a watermark in the first place
Crop it out of the video
Cropping it out of the video is the simplest approach. However, this will change the video’s aspect ratio. If you want to reshare it to another platform that uses the same video size specifications as TikTok, it will leave a black margin around the content.
Cropping also doesn’t work for every video, because you might end up lopping off your own head. If there are important video elements near the edges of your video, then you’ll need a different approach.
Use an app to remove it
A number of video-editing tools exist just to remove TikTok watermarks on iOS and Android. These will import the video and bypass the watermark altogether.
Use a video editing tool to remove it
You can also use a video editing tool, which will replace the watermark with pixels from the surrounding area. You could also use a video to add a graphic on top of the watermark.
Save your video without a watermark in the first place (best option!)
There is a fourth option, which is to dodge the watermark altogether.
Below, we’ll go into more details on all four methods and how they work on different devices.
How to remove the TikTok watermark on iPhone
It’s simple and speedy to remove a TikTok watermark on your iPhone. Whatever method you choose, you’ll need to start by downloading your video.
- Tap the share icon (the swooping arrow below “Like” and “Comment”
- You’ll see a row of TikTok accounts, and a row of apps you can share to. Below that, in the third row, you’ll see “Save Video.”
- Tap it to save the video to your phone.
Crop the video to remove the TikTok watermark
As mentioned above, cropping the video is the simplest approach. If you don’t mind the modified aspect ratio, and if your video subject is centered, this will work.
- First, open the video in your Photos app.
- Select “Edit” from the top-right corner, and then tap the “Crop” icon from the row of options that appears at the bottom.
- Pinch and zoom to edit the dimensions of the video, cropping out the watermark. Because the watermark bounces around, you’ll need to crop more than one area of your video.
- Tap “Done” to save your work.
Once you’ve cropped your video, play it back to check that it worked. If it didn’t, it’s time to try something else.
Use a TikTok watermark remover app
If you search “remove TikTok watermark” in the Apple Store, you’ll find a lot of apps designed for just this purpose. As they say, necessity is the mother of invention!
In fact, the number of options can be overwhelming. SaveTok, SaveTik, Saver Tok, TokSaver, TikSaver— it can be hard to tell them apart! So how to choose one?
Well, before you dive in, know that none of these apps are affiliated with TikTok. All of them are unsanctioned tools designed to bypass the watermarking process. So they could stop working someday if TikTok changes their API.
First of all, not all of these apps will remove the watermark. Some, like TokSaver, are designed to curate a saved collection of watermark-free TikToks, without actually downloading them to your phone.
Secondly, read the reviews carefully! As TikTok’s user base grows, more companies are popping up to capitalize on content creators trying to make it big — a perfect storm for scammers making false promises. While every app we reviewed had at least a four-star rating, the reviews told a different story:
Finally, while most of these apps are free to download, they will either bombard you with ads or require payment to use. Most offer weekly, monthly, or yearly subscriptions. These range in price from around $5-$20 USD per month, though some are less than a dollar per week if you buy a yearly subscription up-front.
If you frequently need to remove TikTok watermarks quickly and easily, a subscription might be worth the investment! Many, like TikSave, also offer a free trial period if you want to test them out first.
Apps that can remove TikTok watermarks also come with other features, such as scheduling and sharing functions. Depending on your needs, those may justify the price tag.
Okay, enough disclaimers! Time to try an editing app. Fortunately, they all work the same way. We tried SaverTok because it offers a free version.
- Download your app from the app store.
- Open the app. It may prompt you to purchase a subscription or a free trial.
- Add a video. To do this, open TikTok and find the video you want to download without a watermark. Tap “Share” and then tap “Copy link.”
- Open your watermark remover app again. It will automatically import the video. From there, you can download it without the watermark by tapping the “Save” icon.
- Your app may also let you modify the caption, add hashtags, and schedule it to post to your TikTok account.
Use a video editing app to remove the watermark
This is the most complicated approach, and not one I would recommend when you could simply save a video without the watermark in the first place. But we’re giving you all the options!

First, search the app store for a watermark remover tool. The caveats above apply: most of the “free” tools will bombard you with annoying ads, or require in-app purchases to work. And the quality varies, so read reviews and do a free trial before you commit!
From there, the App Store is your oyster. We tried Video Eraser.
- Import your TikTok video from Camera Roll.
- Select “Remove watermark” from the menu options.
- Pinch and drag to highlight the area with the watermark. Most of these tools will only allow you to remove one watermark at a time. Because the TikTok watermark bounces around, you’ll have to do this in stages.
- Save your video. Then, open the edited video and select the area for the second watermark.
- Save it again. Then, export the edited TikTok video to your Camera Roll.
Take a moment to review your work. Because these apps work by replacing the pixels of the watermark with other pixels from the video, there will be a blurry effect where the watermark previously appeared. This might not be obvious, especially if you have a solid background. In our example below, it’s pretty subtle. But check the appearance and quality before you upload!
How to download a TikTok without the watermark (or remove the watermark online)
What if I told you that you could save your TikTok without a watermark, without a visit to the App Store or Google Play? Who am I, some kind of magician?
It just so happens, there are a number of websites that can download TikToks without a watermark, such as MusicalDown.com or (confusingly) MusicalDown.xyz, formerly known as MusicallyDown. Other websites, like SnapTik, TikFast and TikMate, work the same way.
Some of these, like SnapTik, can also be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play. But if you don’t want to add any new apps to your phone, a website is convenient!
Also, just like the apps mentioned above, these websites are not affiliated with TikTok in any way. That means they might eventually stop working altogether if TikTok makes changes to their app.
They all work the same way. Here’s how to download a TikTok without the watermark:
- Find the TikTok you want to download in the app.
- Tap “Share” and then “Copy Link.”
- Open your iPhone’s web browser and navigate to the online tool.
- Paste the copied URL into the field.
- Once the video is finished processing, tap “Download” to save it as an MP4.
- Some tools may offer the option of “Watermark” or “No watermark.” I trust you can figure one out for yourself!
Unlike iOS and Android apps, these websites will also work on desktop. You’ll use the same process above to download your TikTok, watermark-free!
Best TikTok watermark removers
The best TikTok watermark remover is the one that works for you!
However, tools that allow you to download a video directly from TikTok without a watermark are best for preserving quality. This includes the websites and apps mentioned above, which bypass the TikTok watermarking process altogether when saving your video.
Video editing tools will add a blurred effect over the watermark, which can be distracting. And cropping the video will change the aspect ratio, and may crop out important parts of the video.
There are many apps and websites that allow you to bypass the TikTok watermark, saving a clean version of the video. However, most apps will require you to pay if you want to export or post your new video, whereas the websites are free. So I’m partial to the websites, and for purely aesthetic reasons, I liked MusicallyDown.XYZ best.
But if you want to take advantage of other features offered by apps like SaverTok or RepostTik, like hashtag libraries and caption editors, then a paid subscription might make sense for you!
Any of these methods will help you download and share watermark-free TikTok content across other social media platforms. Happy posting!
